Baby Shower

Yesterday I threw a baby shower for my sister in law. She is due in September and lives in Alabama. My brother and her came in for the week and this was the only time I could do the shower. My husband let me borrow a camera, so I actually have pictures!


This is the mobile I made out of my chandelier.


I bought this jar just for the baby shower and everyone loved it. Its just regular country time lemonade and rubber duckies!



My mom made this for the party. It turned out great except we couldn't find the melon ballers. They ended up being in the car that I checked but didn't see.



These took literally 2 days to make. But in the end they were worth every bite. I got the recipe from here. They did not turn out like I had hoped but it was definitely worth the effort. I would do them again it just would have to be way in the future.



I also made these. It was really simple. They are pacifers made out of lifesavers, royal icing, and lemonheads.



All in all it was a great time! Everyone loved the set up and I wish I had taken more pictures. I love throwing parties and can't wait til I can do it again.

This video is disturbing! If I ever did this to my mom, I would not be here! I can't believe that this parent would allow this. This is way more than Dr. Phil can handle.

Busy!!

Too busy to blog!!! I have been shopping and cleaning to get ready for the baby shower(well really shopping!!) When it is finally over I will put up pretty pictures and funny stories. Pray for me to get through this week!

Baby Shower!!!

Ok I am planning a baby shower for my SIL. I love to plan parties and make list. I love having all the attention on me. Well really it will be on my SIL, but its my house so people have to be nice to me.

Here is what I have to get done in 6 days.

*Finish cleaning the house(started yesterday but really just let the roomba run and did laundry)

*buy the rest of the ingredients(today I bought the watermelon, meatballs, and crackers.)

*buy decorations(I bought the lemonade thingy but I need plates, cups, cute baby stuff.)

*make cake balls(from this great website and a almost a two day process, hope I get it right)

*finish decorating my house(ie getting my husband to hang pictures)


Oh and everything has to be yellow or green because they are not finding out what the sex is going to be.

If there any pregnant people out there that don't want to find out you're stupid. Really they only sell pink and blue things. There is really like one yellow outfit that maybe a boy could wear if you weren't leaving the house. I know that cause I have looked.


Really when I get pregnant I am going to find out so everyone can get me pink or blue. But don't worry, I don't want to ruin my body yet or not have a life anymore. But there are great moms out there that love their kids and could not be happier, maybe my maternal instincts haven't kicked in yet.

I might not even have kids but that is a another whole blog on why I might not want kids.

My husband is a farmer, and while I knew that while we were dating, I did not know the extent of it. Here is what it means: My husband works his full time job for 10 hours and then after he is done he goes to the farm for another 4 or 5 hours. He loves to farm!

I love the passion that he has for his work! I love that he loves to provide for his family by farming the land! I love him and all he does. I know this is just the beginning of farming. I can make that sacrifice because its what he loves.

But its long nights for me without him. Especially today because he is usually home on saturdays. It was fun the first night because I got to watch all my reality shows. But today I have to clean the house and I don't want to.

America's Best Dance crew is on and it looks a whole lot better than cleaning this house.



Oh and we are going to the melting pot tonight in Raleigh! I have never been there but I am excited. I love to eat!

Reality TV

My husband hates reality TV!

With that said, there is a lot of reality tv on this summer. And I love reality TV. I do not have kids to talk about so I will talk about TV.

I love musicals and reality and this is the best of both worlds.

The Mole


I loved this show when it was on a few years ago, and then they cancelled. But before they cancelled it, they did a celebrity edition. Nothing is better than Kathy Griffin and the cute guy from The Princess Diaries.

Ok this is bad but I can't help it. Its like a car wreck and I can't stop looking at it. This next show is new and am in the midst of watching the second episode right now.

I also love this show, and its been on a while now.

Jon and Kate plus 8



The kids are cute, and the parents crack me up. I think Kate is really like most stay at home moms who are great with their kids and tells their husband what to do. Sometimes Jon doesn't have a backbone but sometimes he does.

The best thing about this is DVR. I can watch the shows I want to when he is at work or on saturdays. He is farming today so I get to get caught up.

Political Matters!

Now I usually don't care about politics and I really don't know that much about it. Just to let people know I am a republican. A staunch republican. So much a republican that I want this bumper sticker:



I know that it is the nicest thing but its true! I know some one who can get that sticker for me. I might be rear ended by someone on welfare, but I am willing to take that chance! I also have insurance! Ha ha!

Anyway I am for nobama 08 all though I think he could win. I also think that this change that he wants could be bad for america. This is just my opinion.

I got a little more sunburned today. My mother in law has a pool and I can't stay away from it. I love swimming and especially with my niece and nephews.
