My Knight in Shining Armor

I have lived in my house with my husband for almost 2 years, and in those 2 years I have been Mrs.. Scaredy Cat when it comes my imaginations of someone trying to break into my home.  If I try to go to sleep without the TV on, I hear all kinds of noises that sound like murderers, robbers, and thugs.  I go to the bathroom window and check to see if anyone is in our driveway a couple times a night.  My husband, on the other hand, is not scared to go to sleep at night.  The noises never bother him unless I wake him up because I heard a noise.

~~Flashback time~~

A few months before I moved into the house, someone came by and kicked in the front door.  My husband had a security system but it was not linked to the police.  As soon as these punks heard the alarm they left.  So I figure they were school kids or stupid construction workers.  These people have never been caught to our knowledge.

So my husband installed security cameras, and linked the alarm to the police.

~~Flashback over~~

So basically we live at Fort Knox, and since I have lived there we have not had any problems. until last week.

Last Saturday night, my hubby and I were going to bed around 10:00.  We are both awake watching college football.  All our lights are out except for the TV.

My hubby hears a noise(which I don't hear surprisingly), and goes to the bathroom to look out the window.   He says that there is a car in our driveway.  I start to freak out, because we don't get visitors especially at 10:00 at night.  My husband grabs the gun and I watch from the front window.

All the sudden from the window I see this guy walking(YES, walking) back to his car.  I see my husband running out the front door yelling at the punk to get @#&!@ out of the yard.  My husband fires a warning shot.  The guy jumps in his car, while my husband is firing another warning shot.  The car reverses all the way out of our driveway and down the street so we don't see his license number.   I am pretty sure that punk peed his pants.

Now I am freaking out, and I can't go outside because I have my on my nightgown.  I don't know what to do whether I should call the cops.  My husband finally comes back in, and he is pretty shaken up.  He has never had to fire the gun in that circumstances.  We go down to look at the security tape, and see this punk going through my husbands truck looking for something to steal.  The punk tries my car but its locked.  Its too dark to see anything on the camera other than the punk going through the truck.  We don't think he found anything to steal in the truck.

But  we were pretty shaken up that night, so we went to sleep at his mothers, plus I was worried that guy would come back.

Since that day my husband is the one hearing the noises and getting freaked out. I am now sleeping like a baby, because I saw how my husband protected this house.  I know that no one is getting into our house without a fight.  He is my knight in shining armor.

What is this? House week?

Our little (I mean really little) dream house

My husband and I were driving along and randomly talking about different things. The subject came up about what our perfect house would be if we did not have kids. We live in a 2300 square foot house, and my husband bought it because he knew it would be perfect for us. Now we feel like if we decide not to have children the type of house we would like to have based on our lives.

The setup of our house now is we have a great room (living room, kitchen, and dining area all together), 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 laundry room.

We only live in one side of our house, so we can eliminate the 3 other bedrooms. We can also eliminate the dining area, because we might have used it 5 times in the past 2 and a half years. My hubby did not even have a dining room table until we had been married 4 months.

We can really eliminate the kitchen because I don’t cook that often, and neither does my husband.

We can also get rid of the other 2 bathrooms. I think it may have been a couple of times that we used the bathrooms at the same time. Everyone knows boys can go pee outside.

So hubby and I only need a living room, bedroom and bathroom. We don’t need a jacuzzi tub or double sinks. We might need a little bigger shower though.

I hate doing laundry, and we could save a ton of money from the above house. So I figure I can just buy clothes for the week, then give them away to charity and buy new ones.

I am no longer wise.

I had my wisdom teeth out today.

Yes. Today.

I actually feel pretty good.  I came home from the surgery, and slept for a couple hours.  I have laid around today eating my fill of mashed potatoes and Wendy’s frosties.  My husband has been my male nurse(murse) all day!  I made him wear a white dress and everything!

I had my surgery at 10:30, and this was actually taken about 4 hours after.  I know I look really cute with my ice pack holder.

I hope this is the worse of the pain, because I read some many horror stories that I scared myself.  The nurse that gave me my sleepy drug was super sweet and calmed my nerves.  When I woke up in recovery I started crying and saying I want my husband, which actually sounded like: uhh wausnt muuyy hsuussbadddnd.  But the nurse told me I could not see him til I calmed down.  I was thinking I will calm down when I see my husband.

He put me to bed, gave me medicine, fed me a frostie, and let me go to sleep!  I worried the whole time for nothing.

I hope its like this when I have babies!

If the pictures don’t prove it, we had a blast.  We were supposed to go with my friend and her fiancĂ©, but since that whole thing happened, she took a friend.

I also am getting my wisdom teeth out.  I don’t want to, but I have been having persistent headaches due to my teeth.

Oh yeah, that is Salt and Pepa and we Pushed it. Pushed it good!

Never having them at all!

This weekend was a lazy weekend, where I could watch TV, clean house, go out to eat, cook dinner, and do whatever else I wanted.

I had heard about this show on Discovery called “Freebirthing”, and I was intrigued because I like the show “I Didn’t know I was pregnant”, even though it is the scariest thing in the world.

Until now.

Let me give you the premise of “Freebirthing.”  It is where ordinary women decide to forgo doctors, midwives, medicine, and have the babies at home. unassisted. I saw the first lady have a baby with her 2 year old son watching from the end of the bed, while her one leg was thrown up in the air, and a head coming through!  Which I thought was pretty gross.  So I pushed Record, so my husband could see it later.  I did not watch the rest of it.

Until Later.

With my husband, and we are never having kids.  The second woman having a baby unassisted was way grosser.  She was buck naked, and in the doggy style position with her helper behind her.  She was screaming and making awful noises, THEN all of the sudden you hear this loud gush of liquid, and baby falls flat on the ground!!!!!!

That sound made me almost throw up.

Then I called my mother and asked if that really happened.  She said it does, but the pain goes away as soon as the baby comes out.  She had me at the hospital, naturally.  I am the youngest.

I told her I was not giving her grandchildren.

Although now I think it would be better if I didn’t know I was pregnant, so I would not have 9 months to think about it.

I am scarred for life.

2 Days

Ok.

2 blog posts in a week.  It is getting crazy up here!!  But I loved all the comments that you guys left about the wedding.

Seriously there is nothing else to the story.  My husband has tried to get some information since he still talks to him, but he won’t give him a reason for not EVER talking to her again.

But you know how boys are, they either don’t ask the right questions, or they don’t care.

In other news, my husband is turning into the Mr. Wilson* of the neighborhood.  We live in a neighborhood that is out in the country.  We have a four wheeler problem.  Adults and kids ride their four wheelers all day long.

Hubby always says “If you own a four wheeler, you own the road,” whatever that means.  But the kids have been riding on a hill across from our house, and it drives my husband crazy.  The kids are actually causing erosion problems by riding on this hill.

But every time he sees a kid get on that hill, he runs out and yells at them.  He is too cute though!  But seriously we have a epidemic of 4 wheelers.  Our neighbors also like to shoot off fireworks at 2:00 in the morning!  But that is another story!

*If you didn’t know Mr. Wilson is from the Sunday comic Dennis the Menace.

What I did this Summer.

So I know that I have been slack this summer on blogging.  I do have lots of funny and sad things that have happened this summer. So I am giving you the reader's digest of this summer.

Wedding Woes:

  • Remember back in March when I did the bridesmaid dress bracket.  You guys did such a good job at picking out a dress, that I did NOT even go with any of your suggestions.  Funny, huh?  Well I guess I should have because after I bought my dress, the wedding got cancelled.  Anyone want a Latte size 10 bridesmaid dress?
  • So the wedding got cancelled because the groom stopped talking to the bride.  He went on a cruise, and when he came back he never talked to her again.  They had been arguing but nothing huge.  She has not heard a word since June from him.  He is best friends with my husband, so that means I still have to see him.
  • The good thing out of this is that now the bride and I are way better friends than before the wedding got cancelled.
  • Another side note; they dated for FIVE years!!!

Wedding and Casinos:

  • My husband was a groomsman for another wedding this summer along with the above guy.  I had to spend the weekend with the no call groom.
  • Fun times!

  • Hubby and I decided to go to Cherokee for a little vacation.  We had a free room at Harrah's since my husband has a gambling problem.
  • It was seriously the nicest room that I have ever stayed in.  When we came back to our room to go to bed, they had white robes and cookies laid out for us!
  • We also brought back triple the money that we took to the casino!!! Yay!

My niece's 1st Birthday:

  • My sweet niece is turning 1 on Thursday, so we had her party here for her.  She is the sweetest child.  There was not a single meltdown.
  • She has been walking for a month and a half already.

  • But she will not feed herself.  Its really cute that she will go to anybody who is eating and we just feed her.  She is like a cute little dog!

2nd Chance Prom:

  • The local radio station has an annual 2nd chance prom that they put on for the local community.  This event is in 2 weeks!
  • We were going to go with the couple that cancelled their wedding, but now only the girl is coming.  She invited a friend.
  • The music group that they hired for the prom is...wait for it......

Salt and Pepa!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I couldn’t find a picture, so imagine it)

  • I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!  It brings me back all the way to middle school with songs like Shoop, Push it, and What a man!!

  • Plus, I have always wanted to go to the prom with my husband!

Other than that we got nothing else!  I will make sure to put some pics up from our 2nd chance prom.
