Things no one told you about pregnancy

I have loved being pregnant and I have been blessed to not have morning sickness. I had morning sickness from about week 4 to week 9. At my ninth week I got a horrible cold which I thought was death or at least the flu. But no it was a measly cold, but it made my morning sickness go away.

There are things that cute pregnant woman don't tell you about pregnancy is the weird symptoms.

1. Heartburn, it will crush you and leave you crying. The bad thing is when I found out I was pregnant, the "baby" wanted spicy Mexican and Italian. It came back to haunt me. I live off tums and no more salsa till after this baby is born.

2. Rabbit pellets. TMI. I poop rabbit pellets and have for the past 4 months. That is all.

3. Hair and nails. My hair is absolutely the best it has ever been with minimum styling. My nails should be manicured because they are so long and strong.

4. I have a dark brown line going down the middle of my stomach. I kind of knew about that but it is still weird.

5. I have the crappiest immune system in the world. I pick up everything! Plus every time I blow my nose there is blood in my tissue. (don't tell me you don't look at the tissue after you blow.)

One thing I learned is that I wouldn't change it for the world. I can't wait to meet my son.

90 Days

I have not updated this blog in forever!!  But a lot has been going on here in our neck of the woods!

My husband’s parents live about 5 miles away from us, and there is also a property right next to them.  A elderly couple has lived there for about 3 years, and my husband has wanted that property when it went on sale 3 years ago.  He didn’t have the money, so the elderly couple got it.

In the last month, the couple has had some really bad luck.  The wife has had some problems this past year, and the husband just broke his leg last month.  I feel so sorry for them.  They are ready to leave this property to be closer to their family.

So………………………….They are selling the house to us!

We move in 90 days!  We have to sell our house, and fix up this new house.  There is a lot to do!  I need lots of inspiration.  The house we live in now was a brand new house, and I didn’t really have to change anything.

The house we are getting was built in 1996, and it needs some improving.  We have to repaint and add carpet, because the house smells like animals.  I can’t stand the smell. They have two big dogs and two cats.

Lots to do!!

4 years ago today

I met my husband.

We celebrated by having Japanese people cook food on a hot grill.  Actually I watched because they use way too much butter for my stomach.  I ate sushi.  My husband enjoyed it though.

His sister has been cutting my Aunt’s hair for about 15 years, and they decided after 10 years that hubby and I were about the same age and single at the same time.

My aunt stalked him, and with his sister’s help convinced him to come see me at my Aunt’s shop on the weekend before Valentine’s day.

It was raining and cold that day, and we had a lunch date.  This was our conversation:

Me:  I just ended a 2 and a half year relationship where we were engaged and called it off.

Him:  Oh, (awkward silence) How long ago was that?

Me: a month ago

Him: Oh (awkward silence)

It ended up being the best thing that happened to me.  He was head over heels in love with me from that date.

The rest is history.

So.

I went off my birth control.

and I have acne.  Its like I time warped back to my freshman year in high school, and I have to use my noxzema again. Also, I am a picker, and I can’t have anything on me that I can feel.  I have to pop those zits!!  I do not like this!  I usually have great skin, and ever since I quit taking that little pill a lot of stuff has happened:

I got acne.(spoiler alert)

I gained 10 lbs.(I know people usually gain when they get on the pill, but my maintained, and now has gone up

My hair is gross. This might be the shampoo that we changed to, but I don’t know.

The good thing is I enjoy my husband more, if you know what I mean!

Decorating Fail

This is what you get when you try to be cute and put a decal on the wall. Then you try to get it off, and it leaves an imprint!

First Thing

Today for the first time, I saw one of my husbands exes (ex) today.  We happen to be walking in the parking lot, and there was another couple with a baby.  Hubby said Hello while I was texting on my phone.

I looked up and stood kind of behind him because I was texting, and wasn’t really paying attention to the conversation.  I got introduced as his wife, and that was it.  My hubby knows a lot of people and we constantly run into someone he knows.  I just do my usual “Nice to meet you” and stand there while they catch up.

As we are walking away, I see my husband kind of smirk. I ask “Who was that?” He says it was his ex girlfriend from like 7 years ago.  I had to stop and look back to see what she really looked like.  I had not been expecting that.

As we are leaving the store, and I have been joking around saying that could have been your baby, and how things change over time.

I asked him if that Reba McEntire song played in his head as he talked to her:

Thousands of people live in this town
And I had to run into him
When I saw him there on that busy street
Those feelings came back again
There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
He walked up to me, looked in my eyes
Chorus:
And still
The world stood still
I couldn't move
And all I could feel
Was this aching in my heart
Saying I loved him still

After he stopped laughing he said that this Garth Brooks song was actually playing in his mind:

Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

Then I laughed some more.  It may sound mean and cocky, but you always want to look better than the ex.  and I did.

Totally 80s!!!

My 30th birthday is coming up this year, and usually I would be pretty bummed.  I hate getting older, but what a better way to celebrate it than to have an 80’s theme party.

I am really excited, and I am working on some ideas!  I need some more ideas!!  I specifically need some decorations ideas.  I am going to use my garage as the party area.  It is a nice big blank space, and you can hang out outside or inside.  I can’t go crazy and paint anything, but I need something for the wall.

This is an example of something on the wall with construction paper or card stock.(without the moustache)

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I also want a photo booth, with black back drop and balloons.  I have 6 months to get this party together.  I am also making people dress up in 80s wear.  I can not wait!  It is going to totally awesome!

Off Day

Today is an off day.  I have a lot of stuff that I want to do, but I feel like blah.  I still have to take down my tree and all the decorations.  I still have to put up my Christmas presents in the correct places.

In two weeks, I will have been married 2 years.  2 years.  It’s amazing still.  There are lots of people that can’t even make it a year.  a year!!  There are also people out there that are miserable in their marriage.

But we are still in love as if it was the first day we fell in love.

In other news, I have reached a reality tv wall with the crap that I watched last night.  Conveyor Belt of Love has to be the stupidest reality show ever.  It is much worse than any Jersey Shore, Tough love, or Rock of love.

I am also trying to diet again.  I haven’t started yet, because things keep coming up!!

stats

walk/run: 2 miles, only 198 more to go.

I think I played Super Mario Brother Wii all day today.  That game is so great!  It is addictive!

My resolutions are coming along.  I need to get all of my Christmas decor down, and hopefully I can do that tomorrow!

2010 New Year Goals

1.  Write more on my blog.

2.  Write 90% more on my blog.

3.  Comment on other people’s blog.  (I really suck at that!)

4.  Lose weight.  (duh!)

5.  Eat healthy food!  I love junk, the more cheese, candy, chocolate, fried a food is, I will gobble it up.  But I love healthy food too!  Why can’t I eat more of that!

6.  Make more dinners at home.  If you knew how much my husband and I eat out!  You would be offended.  (like every day that ends in y).

7.  Run 200 miles this year.  I really want to get back into exercising since I have a gym membership until Oct 2010.

8.  Pray more, and read more of God’s word.

9. Help make a baby.  (writing that down makes it real, but like I told my husband it is probably a 2% chance that it will happen this year.)

10.  Love my husband more than I ever have in 2009!

11.  watch less TV, and less internet.  I don’t have to know everything that happens in pop culture.

Hopefully I will keep you update on how everything is going.  This past year has been wonderful, and I am looking forward to what 2010.  I hope I make new friends, find new love with my husband, and live everyday as if it were my last! (clichĂ© I know!)

Happy New Year!

I know.

I know.

Its been a long time.

I am not sure on the exact date, because I use Windows Live writer to write my blogs.

I had a great streak going where I wrote 2 nights in a row, but I ran out of steam.

  • I have been taking a cake decorating class.  Its fun but I realized that I have no craftiness in me.  But I think I will still keep taking course 2.  I love having something to do, and motivates me to cook food in the house!
  • I had some family drama that I couldn’t talk about on my blog.  My other problem with this  blog is that I really can’t be honest.
  • I still love my husband, and he is completely amazing in every way!!  He truly completes me.
  • Sorry for all the gushy mushy, but I love him!

Thanks for checking up on me Kristina!

Thanksgiving

I know it seems like a long way away, but I really just want to get out of town for Thanksgiving.  Just my hubby and I.  This past year we have had so much family drama, (my side) that we really don't care to spend the holiday with anyone.

Don't get me wrong, Hubby and I love our family but we want to get away.

I want to go to the beach, and hubby wants the mountains.

We get free rooms in the mountains, but we have been there 3 times this year.  I have only been to the beach twice this year, and neither of those times included my husband.  I have a great deal at a resort at the beach, also.

I don't know which one to choose!

The problem with the mountains is that you are a million miles away from anything other than the hotel.  So any Black Friday Shopping we will have to drive far away to enjoy.

The problem with the beach is that my husband hates it.  He also hates shopping.

Mountains: 5 and half hours from our house.

Beach: 1 and half hours from our house.

Which would you choose?

My Knight in Shining Armor

I have lived in my house with my husband for almost 2 years, and in those 2 years I have been Mrs.. Scaredy Cat when it comes my imaginations of someone trying to break into my home.  If I try to go to sleep without the TV on, I hear all kinds of noises that sound like murderers, robbers, and thugs.  I go to the bathroom window and check to see if anyone is in our driveway a couple times a night.  My husband, on the other hand, is not scared to go to sleep at night.  The noises never bother him unless I wake him up because I heard a noise.

~~Flashback time~~

A few months before I moved into the house, someone came by and kicked in the front door.  My husband had a security system but it was not linked to the police.  As soon as these punks heard the alarm they left.  So I figure they were school kids or stupid construction workers.  These people have never been caught to our knowledge.

So my husband installed security cameras, and linked the alarm to the police.

~~Flashback over~~

So basically we live at Fort Knox, and since I have lived there we have not had any problems. until last week.

Last Saturday night, my hubby and I were going to bed around 10:00.  We are both awake watching college football.  All our lights are out except for the TV.

My hubby hears a noise(which I don't hear surprisingly), and goes to the bathroom to look out the window.   He says that there is a car in our driveway.  I start to freak out, because we don't get visitors especially at 10:00 at night.  My husband grabs the gun and I watch from the front window.

All the sudden from the window I see this guy walking(YES, walking) back to his car.  I see my husband running out the front door yelling at the punk to get @#&!@ out of the yard.  My husband fires a warning shot.  The guy jumps in his car, while my husband is firing another warning shot.  The car reverses all the way out of our driveway and down the street so we don't see his license number.   I am pretty sure that punk peed his pants.

Now I am freaking out, and I can't go outside because I have my on my nightgown.  I don't know what to do whether I should call the cops.  My husband finally comes back in, and he is pretty shaken up.  He has never had to fire the gun in that circumstances.  We go down to look at the security tape, and see this punk going through my husbands truck looking for something to steal.  The punk tries my car but its locked.  Its too dark to see anything on the camera other than the punk going through the truck.  We don't think he found anything to steal in the truck.

But  we were pretty shaken up that night, so we went to sleep at his mothers, plus I was worried that guy would come back.

Since that day my husband is the one hearing the noises and getting freaked out. I am now sleeping like a baby, because I saw how my husband protected this house.  I know that no one is getting into our house without a fight.  He is my knight in shining armor.

What is this? House week?

Our little (I mean really little) dream house

My husband and I were driving along and randomly talking about different things. The subject came up about what our perfect house would be if we did not have kids. We live in a 2300 square foot house, and my husband bought it because he knew it would be perfect for us. Now we feel like if we decide not to have children the type of house we would like to have based on our lives.

The setup of our house now is we have a great room (living room, kitchen, and dining area all together), 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 laundry room.

We only live in one side of our house, so we can eliminate the 3 other bedrooms. We can also eliminate the dining area, because we might have used it 5 times in the past 2 and a half years. My hubby did not even have a dining room table until we had been married 4 months.

We can really eliminate the kitchen because I don’t cook that often, and neither does my husband.

We can also get rid of the other 2 bathrooms. I think it may have been a couple of times that we used the bathrooms at the same time. Everyone knows boys can go pee outside.

So hubby and I only need a living room, bedroom and bathroom. We don’t need a jacuzzi tub or double sinks. We might need a little bigger shower though.

I hate doing laundry, and we could save a ton of money from the above house. So I figure I can just buy clothes for the week, then give them away to charity and buy new ones.

I am no longer wise.

I had my wisdom teeth out today.

Yes. Today.

I actually feel pretty good.  I came home from the surgery, and slept for a couple hours.  I have laid around today eating my fill of mashed potatoes and Wendy’s frosties.  My husband has been my male nurse(murse) all day!  I made him wear a white dress and everything!

IMG_1282

I had my surgery at 10:30, and this was actually taken about 4 hours after.  I know I look really cute with my ice pack holder.

I hope this is the worse of the pain, because I read some many horror stories that I scared myself.  The nurse that gave me my sleepy drug was super sweet and calmed my nerves.  When I woke up in recovery I started crying and saying I want my husband, which actually sounded like: uhh wausnt muuyy hsuussbadddnd.  But the nurse told me I could not see him til I calmed down.  I was thinking I will calm down when I see my husband.

He put me to bed, gave me medicine, fed me a frostie, and let me go to sleep!  I worried the whole time for nothing.

I hope its like this when I have babies!

2nd Chance Prom

I know I have been absent lately. again.

We went to a Second Chance prom sponsored by a local radio station.  We had the best time.

If the pictures don’t prove it, we had a blast.  We were supposed to go with my friend and her fiancĂ©, but since that whole thing happened, she took a friend.

I also am getting my wisdom teeth out.  I don’t want to, but I have been having persistent headaches due to my teeth.

Oh yeah, that is Salt and Pepa and we Pushed it. Pushed it good!

Never having them at all!

This weekend was a lazy weekend, where I could watch TV, clean house, go out to eat, cook dinner, and do whatever else I wanted.

I had heard about this show on Discovery called “Freebirthing”, and I was intrigued because I like the show “I Didn’t know I was pregnant”, even though it is the scariest thing in the world.

Until now.

Let me give you the premise of “Freebirthing.”  It is where ordinary women decide to forgo doctors, midwives, medicine, and have the babies at home. unassisted. I saw the first lady have a baby with her 2 year old son watching from the end of the bed, while her one leg was thrown up in the air, and a head coming through!  Which I thought was pretty gross.  So I pushed Record, so my husband could see it later.  I did not watch the rest of it.

Until Later.

With my husband, and we are never having kids.  The second woman having a baby unassisted was way grosser.  She was buck naked, and in the doggy style position with her helper behind her.  She was screaming and making awful noises, THEN all of the sudden you hear this loud gush of liquid, and baby falls flat on the ground!!!!!!

That sound made me almost throw up.

Then I called my mother and asked if that really happened.  She said it does, but the pain goes away as soon as the baby comes out.  She had me at the hospital, naturally.  I am the youngest.

I told her I was not giving her grandchildren.

Although now I think it would be better if I didn’t know I was pregnant, so I would not have 9 months to think about it.

I am scarred for life.
