Ahoy!!!

My husband called me at work today:

Me: Hello(I have caller id)

Husband: You are a stupidhead!!

Me: What? Why? I am at work, I couldn't have done anything to be called that.

My husband then explained to me what I did.

My husband for the past two years has gotten Old Spice Cologne from my grandmother. She never knows what to buy him, so she gets him the same cologne. every. year.

old spice Pictures, Images and Photos

When I was throwing away boxes and trash from our Christmas presents. I just threw the whole box of Old spice in with the other boxes without opening it. Michael is never going to wear it, so why keep it?

Michael took all the boxes to our burn pile today, and guess what exploded when it got hot??

Ahoy!!

He was really mad and called me a stupid head. It got all over his clothes, and when I came home to give him a kiss. I still smelled it on him!! He is the youngest person to wear this cologne.

Ahoy!!

I silently giggled all day.

Blonde is better!!!

Michael and I have been thinking this over for a while, and we were just not happy with our hair. We wanted to go a little lighter.

They say that blondes have more fun!!

Don't worry!! It is not permanent!! We were only wild and crazy for a little while!!

Sick, Sick, Sick

I waited all year to have 4 days off. I had so many plans about what I was going to do this weekend.

None of that got accomplished!!!

I got sick, and have been drugged up with Nyquil, advil, old prescription medicine from the last time I had this stuff!!

Today I finally feel better!!!!

I finally got to play with my new photoshop elements that Michael got me. I was able to change my header!!!!

I worked a day and a half on this header. I love it!!! Well I love it until I learn something new!!!

I would love to take a class to find out more, but for now I have to self teach myself.

We are having a football party tonight!! Go Chargers!!

Christmas is over!

I finally have time to write in my blog!!! I have 3 more wonderful days off!!! It has been busy visiting family and being with our friends. Michael and I were very spoiled!!!

But the best present of all could not be wrapped up in any packages!!!!

(This may look like 1984 with that flannel shirt, but it is 2008.)

My niece is the most precious thing in the whole world. I am so happy she was able to celebrate it with us.

Michael and I are just hanging out this weekend, relaxing!! We have nothing on our schedule!!!

I am a busy Elf!

I have been so busy trying to get ready for my first Christmas with my husband!!!! I have not had time to think of witty blogs to write. I have been shopping, eating, christmas partying, and more shopping and eating!!!

On top of that I still have to work! Boo! I mean why can't everyone get two weeks off for Christmas!! Kids and teachers in school get to, oh and my husband does too!!

That Stinks! That means that he gets to lay in bed while I have to get up and go to work. I mean for the most part he leaves me in bed because he leaves at 5:30!!! Now I have to see him sleeping while I get ready!

Anyway I will try to be back after Christmas. I also still have to clean my house for company!!!! I hate cleaning!!!!

Merry Christmas to everyone!! May God bless you this season!!

This is Great!

I found this on Mrs. Incredible..or so they think I think it says a lot about how we act this season.

Twas the month before Christmas*

*When all through our land,*

*Not a Christian was praying*

*Nor taking a stand.*

*See the PC Police had taken away,*

*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*

*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*

*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*

*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*

* December 25th is just a 'Holiday'.*

*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*

*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*

*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*

*Something was changing, something quite odd! *

*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*

*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*

*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*

* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*

*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*

*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*

*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*

*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*

*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*

*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!*

*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*

*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*

*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*

* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*

*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*

*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*

*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*

*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*

*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*

*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,

not Happy Holiday!*

Please, all Christians join together and

wish everyone you meet

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christ is "The Reason" for the Christ-mas Season!

Garland Show and Tell

I know I am late to the party, but since I have a garland, I decided to show it off. I did not actually make this garland. It was made custom for me though. I did twist the garland together, but my aunt put it together. I did put it on my mantle though. That was a big effort in itself. I had to hide the cords, and made sure it didn't fall down.

That mantle is not held up by anything. I hope The Nester likes it!

Christmas Traditions!!

This is our first Christmas as a married couple, and I wanted to go tell about the Christmas Traditions that I celebrated with my family.

The first one was going at Christmas Eve to look at Christmas lights. We would all pack in my grandparents cars to go see all the lights. Now that I think about it may have given my parents time to wrap the rest of the presents up.

christmas lights Pictures, Images and Photos

My grandparents lived in West Virginia when I was little, and our grandparents usually drove all the way to NC to come get us for the holidays. Our parents could never come up until Christmas Eve usually because of work. I loved it up there because it was usually a white Christmas. My grandma would go all out for Christmas! She had every room decorated, and made the best food ever!!

Lights of Christmas Pictures, Images and Photos

When the whole family was together the presents under the tree took up their own room. I tried to find a picture for example, but nothing on photobucket even compared to what ours looked like. My cousins and I could hardly sleep Christmas Eve. We would wake up at 5:00 a.m. and sit on the couch until everyone else woke up!

The best part of West virginia is that we didn't have to go anywhere else for Christmas, because there was no other family members around. Now we go about 4 different places because of all the different family members.

To this day I have never been without most of my family being there for Christmas. My grandma has been there every Christmas morning since I was born. We never went over to my other grandparents till the afternoon.

I love remembering all those memories, and I am looking forward to making new memories with my husband.

Secretkeeping!

I am an awful secret keeper!! Seriously if a want a secret to stay a secret, DON'T tell me. I can't keep a secret for nothing.

I have to at least tell one person. I tell my husband all my secrets that people tell me. I also tell my best friend Angela all my secrets that I can't tell my husband.

I am also a horrible liar!! My eyebrow twitches when I lie that gives me away every time!!! Its a curse! I really try hard not to lie but with all the secrets I keep, its hard to keep who is not supposed to know what!!

I also have drama happening around me, and I am the middle person. I don't like this. I can't keep up with it. I am Switzerland, because I know both sides. It is a nightmare!

I wish I could write freely about what is going on my life, but I can't! If you call me on the phone I might let you know!

Christmas time!

I am almost completely done shopping for Christmas!! Yay me! I have a couple more gifts to buy for the family, and then I have to get my husband some stuff! I would love to tell you what those were, but my husband reads this blog.

So Honey don't look here for Christmas presents!!

I wanted to do a tour of my house and all I have done, but the weekend got away from me. But I can preview. This is my tree! It is the best thing I have done for my house! I had a little help but for most part did it myself.

Martha Stewart could not do this better!! The next week I will be able to show the rest of my decorations. The Nester
is doing a Garland show and tell, so I am going to wait to show that!

Only 17 more days til Christmas!

Britney: For the Record

I just walked in to my house, and my husband was not home. So that means I can watch all the reality shows I can fit in. Britney: For the record is the first thing that I see to watch.

It was kind of sad, and I am not sure to feel her pain, or laugh at her. She was really, at least I think, crying because she is sad. She can't get away from her life with paparazzi. I am not sure what to think about it.

But in the middle of this is a Madonna concert. Madonna looks crazier than Britney. Madonna's eyebrows were about to attack her face!! She did not look like the young Madonna that I remember dancing and singing to. I was 8 singing "Like a Virgin" I didn't even know what that meant!!

But the "documentary" kind of showed that Britney is a real person. She has made mistakes, but who hasn't? Now my mistakes aren't posted on US Weekly for everyone to judge. I hope there is help out there for Britney.

I read the magazines, and I keep up with the pop culture. I know I shouldn't but I don't care to much for the politics, so I like to keep up with pop culture. So at least I will be up on my current events!

Yesterday was wild!!!! I had 50 comments on my blog by joining The Secret is in the Sauce! It was truly amazing, and even though I did it so I could win cool stuff. I saw lots of different blogs, but I did not win a darn thing!

Oh Well! Back to the regularly scheduled programming of mediocre posts and few commenters.

Today I was going to show my whole house decorated for Christmas, but my sweet sweet hubby is not finished putting the wreaths on the windows. He also has to put the spotlights out, so people can actually see the wreaths. This would also mean that I have to clean the house, so it will definitely have to wait until this weekend.

I have been busy shopping, watching all the Christmas movies on Lifetime, and working! I can not believe that it is only three weeks until Christmas!! I still have a few more presents to buy and I have no idea what to get. Why is it so hard to buy presents!! I hang out with my family 365 days a year, and I still do not know what to get them!!

I have my mother in law, grandmother in law(is that even a word), mema, aunt, other mema, dad, husband to buy presents for this year.

My mother in law told us we could get her a heated towel rack, that she already bought and put up in her bathroom. So does that mean we just give her the money? Merry Christmas I bought my own present!

Our family just picks stuff out, and hope they like it.

SITS Merry Christmas Card

Here is my SITS christmas card, because they are doing an all day giveaway!!

Our 2008 Christmas Letter!

This will be Michael and I's very first Christmas together as a married couple. We wanted to let everyone know what has been going on in our lives.

We got married in January!! It was the absolute best day! The only time it snowed all season was on our wedding day! But we quickly got the heck out of dodge to a sunny climate!! The Bahamas, Key West and Atlantic Ocean were calling our names! We lost some money gambling, had lots of whoopie, and ate food til we threw up!

I have been using this year to get adjusted to Annabell sleeping with us. Michael and her are against me and work together to steal the covers from me! She has been really the best dog, and I wouldn't know what to do, if she was not around!

I've spent all year trying to decorate our house, just the way we both like it. We both have different styles! My style is traditional with pictures on the wall, knick-knacks on furniture, and lamps on tables. Michael has more of a style of recliner, TV, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. memorabilia.

We are learning to adjust to each other!

This year we have been blessed in all aspects of our life, and could not be happier!

We are looking forward to the New Year!

Thank you for being a part of our life this past year!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

May God bless you this season!

My Favorite Christmas Movie

This is my absolute favorite Christmas movie. It makes me laugh like a 12 year old girl every single time I see it. It never gets old.

Will Ferrell- Elf Pictures, Images and Photos

I love that it comes on almost every day at Christmas time. I can not channel surf anytime I see it. I must watch it!! My friends and I just crack up at this movie. It is so stupid!!

Buddy the elf! What's your favorite color?

Santa!! I know him! I know him!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I realize that Thanksgiving ends in two hours, but I wanted to get a Thanksgiving post up. I wanted to write the things I am thankful for this season.

1. God: I am truly nothing without him, and he brought me into this life. He has blessed me greatly. He is my ultimate Savior.

2. My Husband: I love him so much, and I am so thankful that we were brought together. This was our first Thanksgiving together, and I enjoyed it so much!

3. Family: I have such an awesome and supportive family that takes great care of me and my husband. They continually teach me things that I cherish.

4. My job: When this economy is so shaky, I am thankful that I have a job to go to every day. My husband's business is holding on by a thread, and I pray every day we can keep our head above water.

I really am going to enjoy spending this season with my family and my husband. I hope everyone that reads this has a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Shutterfly.com

I just used this website to get my Christmas cards for this season. I had never used it before, but I love it. I got 62 Christmas cards, and 50 pictures that I needed printed out. I ordered them on Sunday afternoon, and got them today Tuesday!

I could not believe it. It was also highly affordable. I only paid 33 dollars for everything! I got free shipping and 50 free prints and 12 extra Christmas cards when I ordered 50. I don't think you can beat that for anything.

The pictures also turned out great, and also I got envelopes to go with my Christmas cards!! Seriously if you are doing Christmas cards, you need to go through them.

You can also have your own page where friends and family can see your pictures and order if they want to. You can also pick the pictures up at Target, if you can't wait two days!!

Blah!

Today has just been one of those days.

I went to work same as always, and when I went to the bathroom at 1:30, I noticed my shirt was on inside out! All day long I have been sitting here thinking I have been cute, and my shirt was on inside out.

Great!

This weekend Michael and I went to Raleigh, where the stores are better, more restaurant options, and better deals.

I didn't buy a single Christmas present.

We drove an hour to go to fancy schmancy mall, and I bought Michael a N.C. State shirt. I did however buy a few more things for my Christmas tree and decorations. Hopefully I will have everything finished tonight! My aunt is coming over, and she is a Martha Stewart type decorator. She is going to put the finishing touches on it.

Yesterday I watched Bridge to Teribithia for the second time, and cried my eyes out. That is my favorite book when I was in 5th grade, and have loved it ever since. For Valentine's day the year before last, Michael took me to see the movie.

BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA Pictures, Images and Photos

I was crying louder than anyone including grown men. I watched it yesterday and still cried. That little boy is so heartbreaking!

All in all a semi decent weekend.

My Christmas Wish List!!

I know Thanksgiving is a week away, but I thought I would let my husband in on the things I want for Christmas. I know I would rather give than recieve, but I pretty much have to let him know. He usually does a great job.

First off..

Adobe Photoshop Elements v6.0 Pictures, Images and Photos

I need this to make my pictures look extra cool!! I had the free software for a month, and then my hubby got it for another month. Now I miss it!

Rayman Raving Rabbids Pictures, Images and Photos

Ok I have this game, but they came out with a sequel called Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV party. It is short fun games that I can use my wii fit for, because I sure do not use it to exercise! I also want Guitar hero: Aerosmith.

Betty Pictures, Images and Photos

I just started watching this last season, but this show cracks me up. I love Mark and Amanda together!!

LADIES DIAMOND BASICS WATCH Pictures, Images and Photos

Ok maybe not this watch, but one like it. I use to wear watches all the time, but I have not in a long time.

Dutch oven Pictures, Images and Photos

I like to cook, and I see this for the majority of the recipes I want to make. I need one to make delicious meals!

And then I need this to make desserts:

Martha Stewart Pictures, Images and Photos

I think that's it!! I see stuff all the time, but I don't like to tell people what I want except for Michael. When his mom asks me, I say scarves and gloves. I don't want to tell her I want a wii game.

Midnight Ramblings

Is this what life is all about?

As I sit here listening to the TV about having a dozen kids on TLC, and on the other ear, I hear my husband snoring.

I can't sleep tonight for some reason. I go through phases where I sleep fine, and then one night I can't sleep.

Tonight is one of those nights. I have so much on my mind that I worry or think about. Why am I so blessed? I could have never imagined my life turning out this way. I knew that I was ready to be married. I knew that I would be good as a wife.

But tonight as I sit here and think. Am I really a good wife? Do I love my husband enough to give everything to him? Do I love him enough for it just to be him and me. No kids at all.

Frankly I am scared to death of having kids. I know I talk about it alot, but at midnight when my words seem more clear and I can say what I feel. Is love for my husband making him dinner, washing his clothes, having sex? I think it is a more spiritual, emotional, physical attachment than I can ever have with anyone else.

And the love I have for my husband how can I take some of that love away and give it to a child?

This is a post where I just wrote what I have been thinking at Midnight. Its not something I thought about or wanted to add pictures too. Its not a funny post. Its my thoughts and this is what this blog is about.

My Husband!

I saw this on someone's blog, but I can't remember where I saw it at. I really like this meme, and if you want to play along, Go ahead!

My Husband

1. He’s sitting in front of the TV: What is on the screen? Nascar, Football, How its Made, (anything that bores the crap out of me!)

2. You’re out to eat. What kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Ranch or homemade Italian dressing

3. What is one food he doesn’t like? pot roast, and that happens to be my speciality, but he won't try it.

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order? Diet coke or pepsi, he does not like bars or alcoholic drinks.

5. Where did he go to high school? Flora McDonald Academy, yeah he is one of those preppy private kids!

6. What size shoe does he wear? 10 I think?

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? Anything Dale Earnhardt or tractors, my husband is high class!

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Grilled Cheese, He only likes the ones made by me or the ones at Hooters.

9. What would the Husband eat every day if he could? Buffalo Wild Wings or Mexican

Seasons!

Today it snowed!!! Well there was flurries for about a minute. I did not see them persay, because I am locked in an enclosed office. I have no windows to see the beautiful snow.

Last week it was in the 70's.

This week it is the 40's.

I know this is great information on a blog, but not much more is happening. I am still not done decorating for Christmas. However I did go on shutterfly last night, and created my Christmas cards.

I might need to take another picture for the card, but it works for now.

I have mexican thanksgiving at the office on Thursday. Yes I am on the party planning committee, but don't call me Phyllis! Our office does not want to have the traditional thanksgiving meal, because that cost too much money. The managers are providing the tacos and burritos, and we have to bring the rest.

Feliz Thanksgiving!!!

Do Hispanic people even celebrate Thanksgiving? I don't mean that to sound mean, but what does their culture do? I am not sure I have a ot of hispanic readers.

Anyway DWTS is almost done, and my husband is ready to get his TV back. I think Cody is going home tonight. I want Lance Bass to win!!

A crime has been commited

against my rug.

The perpetrator was caught red-handed.

No one was hurt in this except for the rug. It is a red ink pen.

This had to a have been a full ink pen to cause this damage. There is so much ink that Resolve carpet cleaner can't get it up. We were sitting right with her while she did this? Why didn't we notice until she was done!!!

It was pretty funny, and funny enough to put on my blog. I should just start a blog called Annabell's Antics. It is something everyday!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I went out with the girls in my family at a Holiday Open house. I was there to buy Christmas decorations for my tree that was in the box at home.

I came home to find my great husband had done this for me.

Isn't he the best!!!

I still have to pull out all the branches, but its up!!!

I love him!!

Dentist Appointment

I hate the dentist!!!!

Now my dentist is a very nice lady, but her dental assistant loves torturing me. I hate what a dentist has to do. I hate the job, not the person.

Why must you scrape my teeth with that pointy thing!! It hurts and it grates me to no end!! My dentist also checks me for oral cancer, and just so you know I am cancer free. I do have a little TMJ though. Everytime I open my mouth my jaw pops. It doesn't hurt but its noticable.

I have been seeing this dentist for a year, and I have had 3 cativities filled. On my appointment today, she says I have 6 more cavities!!!

What the Heck?? Its because I don't floss and they are between my teeth. I don't mind getting cavities filled, because they give me the good old numbing shots!!

I just hate the scraping with the pointy thing!!

Change of subject: Have you seen the commercial for Jon and Kate getting married. I saw it today and it brought tears to my eyes, and it was just the commercial!! It was so sweet though. I know if I watch the show I will be boohooing! I love that family!

Thanksgiving? What's That?

I know that Thanksgiving has not arrived yet. I know that I have not tasted that sweet turkey, yams, potatoes, or pumpkin pie. No sweet nap dreaming of football and family. But I could not help it. I wanted to get an early start.

We bought our Christmas tree last night.

This is our first Christmas as a married couple, and I want our house to be the prettiest on the block. All I have is the tree and the lights. I am going with a monogram theme this year, and I have bought too many to count of A's and M's. I want something that is traditional yet different. Hopefully I will have it fully decorated by the weekend after Thanksgiving.

This is a whole new thing for me. I have never decorated my own tree. I have never decorated a house for Christmas. I have never woken up on Christmas morning with the love of my life right beside me. We can start any traditions that we want.

It is all fresh and new to us!!!

I have not started on Christmas shopping yet. I am the worst present giver also. I never know what to get anybody. I never know what to tell people what I want. Hopefully I can do better this year!

No Babies!

It seems like everyone is on the babymaking train these days.

Michael and I are not.

We are patiently hanging out in the train station, watching all of our friends and family step on aboard the train. I personally know 8 or more people that are currently pregnant or just had babies.

Michael and I have 2 nephews and 1 niece on his side. They are 6, 5 and 3. They are at the best age to play with, and have fun. They are potty trained, and we love spoiling them. My brother and wife were just blessed with a brand new baby girl. She is the most sweetest thing in the earth. The bad thing is she lives 10 hours away!!! My mother can only go see her about once a month.

Guess what I hear when she gets back.

Momma: "When are Michael and you having babies?"

Me: "Not anytime soon."

Momma: "But I need a grandchild that is close by."

Me: "Tell your son to move closer."

Every day someone asks us about having children. I know that you are supposed to get married and procreate. We are heavily thinking about in the next few years to have a child or two. Just not right now.

A couple of weeks ago, I was feeling tired and just plain weird. I get plenty of sleep at night, and I just didn't know what was happening. Michael and I joked that maybe I was pregnant. I could not get it out of my mind, so I took a pregnancy test.

It was negative.

I was relieved.

So when people are getting on the babymaking train, and leaving us in the station. They do not have to worry, because we will eventually get on the train.

Who loves Michael more??

Michael and I have a dog.

Her name is Annabell.

She was around almost a year before I even stepped into the picture. She and I act the same way around Michael however. Now granted he doesn't have to take me out for walks to use the potty, but he does have to take me out to eat a couple times a week.

Annabell and I fight for Michael's attention. She usually wins out.

Here are a few examples:

1. When Michael is laying down in his recliner, she comes up and lays right on his chest. She is a little thing, but she likes to lay right on him for a long time. hen I am being sweet to Michael, I try to sit on his lap in the recliner to cuddle. I think it last like 5 minutes because his arm is in the wrong place, or my bony hip is in his side.

Annabell: 1 Me: 0

2. In the beginning of our marriage when Michael and I would be intimate, and underthings go flying all over. She would take just my underthings and tear them up. I went through 2 bras and a handful of panties. The good side of that is Michael would have to buy me the Victoria Secret gift card to replace them. My body can only handle the good stuff.

Annabell: 1 Me: 1

3. Michael and I go to bed at the same time every night. We lay in bed and talk about our day, and Annabell always shows up to smoosh in between us. She knows there is an inch of room between us, so she makes room. She has to sleep right beside Michael. He never pushes her away.

Annabell: 2 Me: 1

If Annabell has an accident in our house, it is usually in the closet of our bedroom. It also usually while Michael and I are in the shower, or just being together. Without her. She has major jealousy and possessive issues. I think she needs doggie therapy.

But here I am writing a whole blog about how I fight with Annabell (a dog) for my husband's attention. I think I may have issues too. One thing is for sure, Annabell and I both know how to get Michael to do whatever we want. We just bat those puppy dog eyes of ours, and he makes sure we are taken care of. There has been a couple nights that Annabell gets left at Grandma's overnight, so we can have privacy.

Annabell: 2 Me: 2 Michael: 0 awww!

And I don't have kids, I wonder why?

My Heritage

I am from the South. I am a good ole Southern girl with a Southern(redneck) husband. One day I hope to raise my kids in the good ole' Southern way. My momma and daddy raised me with the best intentions. They worked extremely hard to give us everything we wanted. I was a latchkey kid in Kindergarten through my senior year in high school. There was some babysitters, but for the most part TV was our babysitter. I seem to think now is the reason that I love to watch my TV. It was always there when I needed it.

Unless my brother had the changer.

My parents worked in a grocery store. I used to be so ashamed of that. I never wanted to tell anybody at school where my parents worked. I know its sad. If only I could take that back. My brother and I were never left out of anything however. We played every sport in school, and my parents paid the way. We went on every church and school trip all through school. My family was never on welfare. We never lived in a trailer. I am definitely not saying those things are bad. You do what you got to do to make your family work.

My father once told me once that we could make a choice. We could live in the house in a subdivision and keep our used cars, or we could live in a trailer and have brand new cars. I think its all in what you really want. My parents have lived in the same house for 22 years. The are really close to paying off their mortgage.

We were not rich by no means. My parents wanted us to have college educations, great jobs, and a great family.

Two out of three ain't bad.

I never got my college education, but I have great job. My brother has 2 bachelor degrees, and a masters degree. He has a great job too. I always say he went to college for me.

My brother and I got the family of our dreams too! I have a loving, wonderful, and supportive husband. He has a wife and a baby girl.

I could care less if I had to live in a trailer, as long as my family was with me, and no tornadoes were in sight. I have pride in what my family has accomplished.

Today my Father no longer works for one grocery store. He works for about 40 grocery stores as a vendor for a major frozen pizza company. At his age, he is the Number 1 salesman on the East Coast for this company. My mother no longer works for the grocery store either. She is a successful business owner. She owns a gift basket business that she started from scratch with her sister.

All that shame that I had was for nothing. They were showing me that they worked hard to make a living. It doesn't matter where you work as long as you are happy.

Junior League

I am thinking about joining my local Junior League. I am interested in the volunteer work that the Junior League puts on, and I love the local Holly Day fair that they put together.

But am I too young to be a part of the Junior League? Whenever I think of the Junior League, I think of women in their 40's who have great kids, great house, and all around perfect.

I am none of those things. I think of someone like Laura Bush. She is probably a part of it.

Laura Bush Pictures, Images and Photos

But as I sit and see how I moan about America, and how I don't want to spread my wealth. I know I change things by helping others. My local Junior League helps a lot with children, habitat for humanity, and battered women. Why can't I be the type of person who does that?

I am lazy, and I read where you have to give at least 3 hours a week to the Junior League. That may not seem like a lot, but when I have to work, work out, blog, watch tv, and take care of my husband, 3 hours seems like 40 days. Also the new membership classes have already started, so I will have to wait until next year. I have a while to ponder whether I want to be a part of it or not.

Comments?

Usually I have a few commenters, but in the last 3 post I have not had any. Good thing I looked at my bloggy friend Mrs. D and she informed me through her comments, that she could not comment.

I tried the new commenting thing that most blogs I see have now, but obviously that is not working, so I am going back to the old one.

Geez and I thought no one was finding my blogs funny!!

Election Time

My aunt, her son(my cousin, duh), and me are meeting up at 6:30 in the morning to go vote for our president. There is not going to be no early voting for us. I beleive that it is UN american to early vote. I like voting on the day because it always seems like those count.

The sad thing is my aunt and me are voting for one person, and my cousin is voting for the other guy. We are planning to go out to breakfast after voting. That is if we don't have to wait in line foreva!! I really don't want to wait in line, and I am hoping that the people don't start to get into line until 8 in the morning.

I am so sick of political ads and propoganda!! I am not sure if I have made it clear who I am voting for, but I do not want to push anybody away because we don't agree on the presidential election. I already don't have that many readers. I don't want to alienate anybody else.

Let's just get it over with!!! Please!!

Weird but funny

This is how people find my blog, Seriously? If you have Google Analytics you can find how people search keywords to find your blog.

DTWS
Ok this one is easy because I talk about it every Monday.

"country boy" dating "city girl"
I would not have it any other way, but why the quotes? Are you not sure you are country boy or a city girl

"tried being a girl"
Again with the quotes! I am not sure I ever wrote about trying to be a girl, but this ain't no cross dressing blog! I may be private, but I am a girl. I am not trying at all.

duggar weedding pictures
This is exactly how it is spelled, in fact I got a lot of searches from my duggar post, also included in searches is
hate blogs about the duggars
That post was not a hate blog about the duggars!! It was strictly opinion!! Get it right!

Macramed jean short
The reason I used these words were from a quote from 40 year old virgin from this post. I guess someone was looking for a pair. They sure didn't find them here.

google.com
Someone searched google.com and found my blog?!? Why would you use google to find google?

marriage proposal on stage with chuck wicks
I was proposed to in a much cooler way! Even though every time I hear "Stealing Cinderella" I tear up!!

Pictures of cute country boys
If you were looking for some, you will only find one here. That is my hubby!

He is the original country boy!!

I can only imagine what people are searching for on google. I am sure they are even more shocked to end up on my blog. But if you coming to visit, you could at least comment on your findings!!

Is it??

Ok It is 9:58 and someone is going home???

And its CLORIS LEACHMAN!!!!!!

SHUT UP!!!

After so long, and I mean a long time!!!!! She is going home!!!!!!!

CLORIS LEACHMAN IS OUTTA HERE!!!!

I have restored my faith in DWTS!!!! The show is not rigged!!!

I feel so giddy!!

Yay!!

Now I need to find someone else to get rid of.

Maybe Samantha Harris? She is really annoying!

This is the end!!

I can feel it, and I have a very big hunch that Cloris Leachman is going home!! I know the show just started but the judges gave her a 15!!! A 15! Who gets by when you have such a low score.

Seriously if she doesn't, then it is rigged. I think I should write a letter to DWTS, if this doesn't happen.

Mock Letter:

Dear DWTS(I use the abbreviation because its cool and I am lazy):

Here we are at the halfway mark of DWTS and I have noticed that Cloris Leachman is still on the show. I know that you know she is over the age of 80. She can not move without her pro dancer putting her in place. She gets really mad when the judges don't like her. I can not believe that all her moves haven't made her drop dead.

I know DWTS that you are waiting for the big ratings boost of having an elderly woman drop dead on your show. Look at Julianne Hough!! She is having her appendix out, and she is getting number one blogging on TMZ!! Her freaking appendix!!!

DWTS how can you even look at yourself? Tom Beregeron you should be ashamed!! She could not even do the old school hip hop dancing!!

Next time you guys decide to have an elderly woman, why not try someone like Betty White or Nancy Reagan. I hear that they shake a tail feather.

Love,
Your adoring and annoyed fan.

P.S. If she gets kicked off tonight, please accept my apologies. If not I don't know how I can suffer through non-dancing Cloris Leachman DWTS.

I was going to go to sleep before the results came in, but I don't know how I can.

The Duggars

Duggars Pictures, Images and Photos

I am watching their new show, and I am amazed by this family. Their previous shows I always thought they were robotic and Amish. But their new show is more like Jon and Kate plus 8. The kids are really cute, and know how to speak in front of the camera.

Who cares that they only watch 7 hours of TV a month. I mean I am not saying I would want to be a part of their family, but if you grew up that way, you don't know what you are missing.

The oldest boy Josh really seems like he has his head on his shoulders. He proposed on their show.

But Josh's Fiance was wearing the same shirt as her mom when she was proposed too!! Wow!! That is something I would never do!

His fiance also looks like one of his sisters, I mean seriously!!!

When he asked her at Captain's D's, it was sweet, when she gave him the side hug.

They are saving their first kiss for their wedding day. That is nice!! It is very hard to do but to each his own. Again if you grew up that way!! I had friends a few years ago, that did the same thing, and it was awesome on their wedding day.

It was kind of awkward to watch. He asked her parents permission to hold her hand.

I really do like this show, and there is some things I do agree with, and some I don't. I have only watched a few shows, so I can not fully base my opinion on a couple shows!!!

They all have J names too!! They are bound to run out of names!!

The most awkward moment!

Yesterday my husband and I went over to take our niece and nephew to their grandparents. (husband's parents) The kids were going to a Trunk or Treat at the local church. Our little 3 year old niece is dressing up as Cinderella. She was just so cute as Cinderella. I thought we could put her hair up and be really cute like a princess.

My hubby was sleeping in the chair, and his mom and I were getting the kids ready. I needed a ponytail holder for my niece's hair. She told me they were in the top drawer in the bathroom, and to go ahead and get them.

I walk in to the hallway and look up and there is my father in law in his whity tightys. He was in the hallway walking betweenn the bedroom and the bathroom. I see him and I just stopped. I could not say anything!!! I just turn right around and go back to the living room.

My hubby's mom is asking whether I got the ponytail holder, and all I can do is laugh. I am laughing so hard I can't tell her what I saw. Finally I get it out that I saw her husband in his scivvies, and she is cracking up!!!

I tell my husband later and he just laughs at me.

Today we go over there, and they were getting ready to go to lunch. My hubby comes up behind me and says "My dad is changing if you want to go back there."

I was so embarassed, and I can never look him in the eye again!

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

This is getting serious!!

Cloris Leachman is STILL on DWTS!!!!!!!!!

I think next week, I might have to take drastic measures and vote for someone other than Cloris Leachman. I think that DWTS is trying to kill her. I think if she falls down dead on the dance floor, then she will bring up their ratings up!!! I really think it is rigged.

Who is seriously voting for Cloris.

I know this is my 4th or 5th rant about how Cloris is still on, but really??

Come On!!!

Step Aerobics!!

I did Step Aerobics in my gym tonight.

It hurt really bad! I have done step before but I obviously was doing at the wimpy gym. The instructor was doing moves that I had never seen before. I didn't think it was a expert class, but it was tough!!

I liked it though, but I need to pick up some endurance so that I can keep up with it.

CelesteCantees Creation Pictures, Images and Photos

I did feel very fat and pudgy. I think I was the only one with a red face and breathing heavy that I saw. I can't wear those tight workout gear, because I don't have the body to wear it yet. Maybe when I lose a few pounds.

I have some great pictures from my trip to Charlotte with my husband that you would not believe. So I hope I can get those up this week.

Ode to Cloris Leachman

This is to Mrs. D, who does not know who or what Cloris Leachman is about. A little biography of Cloris Leachman according to Wikipedia.

Cloris Leachman (born April 30, 1926) is an Academy Award-winning American actress of stage, film and television. She has won eight primetime Emmy Awards—more than any other female performer—and one Daytime Emmy Award. She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in the 1971 film The Last Picture Show, though she is best known for playing the nosy neighbor Phyllis Lindstrom on the 1970s TV series The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and then later on the spinoff series, Phyllis. She also appeared in three Mel Brooks films, including Young Frankenstein.

Although I was not born when she was at her height of stardom. I do remember her. She took over for Mrs. Garrett on The Facts of Life.

This was when I watched Facts of Life. I may have been too young to understand the adult stories they were talking about but I remember Mrs. Garrett leaving and her sister Beverly Ann taking over for her. I am sure she has been in other things, but who really cares. She is on DWTS, and she really needs to go home.

I hope this helps Mrs. D!!!

Dancing with the stars

Ok I am hopped up on Benadryl, because I can't sleep at night, and that always seems to help.

I did not go to work today because I was tired and had a horrible headache from the lack of sleep.

Cloris Leachman is still on Dancing with the Stars! Really?? At least she was in the bottom two!! You guys know how much she gets on my nerves. I had a long weekend, because my hubby and I went to Charlotte to see Gary Allen. This is my hubby's favorite country singer. More post to come about that!!! I got some good pictures, that no one would believe unless you saw it!!

I will try to get more into posting this week!!

Adventures with Kids!

My hubby and I are barren. We have no kids and we are ok with that, but we have 2 nephews and 2 nieces, that we love very much.

This past weekend we had our first slumber party with the brother and sister team of Little girl (3) and little boy (5). They have names but for the sake of being private they will be known as Flower (girl) and Book (boy). There names mean something like their nickname.

Their mother needed some time to herself, she is a high school teacher and trying to get her master's degree. She had lots of papers to grade, and lots of term papers to write. She needs peace and quiet sometime.

Now we were supposed meet them at the famous Cracker Barrel, after my hubby and I had been at a college football game. A hot football game, where we sweated like pigs, and burned like ants under a microscope. We were tired to begin with, but we stuck to our plan.

We don't have toys at our house, because we don't have kids. But I happen to have Alvin and the Chipmunks. They call my hubby Uncle Bubba(isn't that sweet), and Flower only "sometimes" likes Uncle Bubba. She loves me though!

The first thing that Book said when he walked in was "Your house is dirty". Thanks even a 5 year old knows my house is not the cleanest on the block.

Flower decided that she was tired, and wanted to go to bed. I took her in our room and Book slept in the guest room, and hubby on the couch. Flower and I slept together. It was about 8:30 when we got into bed, and it was about 10:30 before she fell asleep. We talked for two hours while I dozed off on her every now and then. She finally falls asleep and I can finally rest.

It did not last long!!!! She woke up at 4:00 in the morning, and she was trying stand up and walk off the bed with her stuffed kitty cat. I had to grab her before she fell head first off the bed. She did not go back to sleep. So I decided to turn on the tv and find a kid movie, so she could fall back asleep. She did not, but I dozed off through the movie and try to make sure she didn't try to get out of bed again. I can Multi-Task! Once the first movie was over, she wanted to watch another one, and since it was only 5:30, I put on another one.

At 7:30 in the morning her brother got up and got in the bed with us. They were hungry. I woke hubby up and told him were going to McDonald's to get breakfast. We fed them, and let them play in the McDonald's playhouse. Then we took them to my hubby's parents house to let them have them for a while.

I was wore out!! I only spent 12 hours with them, and it felt like days!!!! I slept through lunch, and my hubby went to lunch with the family without me.

I don't know how you Mommas do it. I don't think I have the patience or the energy!!! I guess that comes when you pop that watermelon through a key hole, you feel that maternal instinct kick in. Although I do love the hugs and kisses I get when I see them! Just don't tell me my house is dirty, I know that already!

Go Home!!!!

Ok! The first week on Dancing with the Stars, Cloris Leachman was funny!! Now she is annoying!! She did not even dance on Monday Night!! She just walked around while her partner turned her around! She one jive step!!! How can they keep her on there.

I know she is old, but my goodness her walking around is not dancing! America wake up!!! Do you really want her around?

In other news, not much is happening.

I work, go to the gym(boo), go home, blog, sleep, Repeat!

Fall Party!!

Kimba at A Soft Place to Land is having a fall party.

I know Fall started like a month ago, but I finally got around to getting some pumpkins, and cute little fall things. I am not a big Halloween person, and I prefer summer to any other season. But I decided since this is my first Fall with my hubby that I would fix up the house. I only did a couple things, but I wanted so bad to be a part of the party!!

This is the island that I change monthly what I want in the middle. This is a bad picture. I stole this casserole dish from my aunt, and she has not asked for it back. It has been there with the top on it for a few weeks. Tonight I filled it with Michael's crafts store pumpkins that are half off!!

This is the centerpiece to my dining room. I have had those candles on my dining room since I got it. We never eat there, but I try to have something there. Good thing you did not see the rest of the table, because it has junk on it.

I know this is nothing spectacular, but its a start!!! I will take any tips or suggestions!!

I also bought a Fall flag for the porch! But its dark, and I don't want to take a picture, because Dancing with the Stars is on.

Our Proposal Story!!!

This weekend is one year after my husband asked me to marry him. I am not sure if have wrote about this before, but what a better time at the anniversary.

My husband had been planning this for about two months before he asked me, and it was very calculated. Let me tell you my side, and then I will tell you his side.

It was a Friday afternoon and my hubby asked me to come to his house after work because we were meeting friends at Miyabi's for dinner. Miyabi's is a Japanese restaurant where they cook the food in front of you(important later).

When I got to my hubby's house he told me to get into the car, because he had left a computer on a job site. He was very nervous, and he said he had to hurry and get that computer. It was about 25 minutes away, and we had to hurry to make dinner. Once we got to the job site, I could see the bulldozer, and my hubby got out. I am in the car not paying attention to anything, and thinking about whether I want chicken or steak at Miyabi's.

After a few seconds, I look out the window to my right and I see my hubby throwing a towel on the ground, and a box in his hands. I see him get on one knee and I jump out of the car crying!! When I get up to him, he says Will you.... and he turns me around, and this is what I see.

(Ok that is not the view I see, that was an airplane taking a picture, more on that later)

He took his bulldozer and wrote Marry Me in 40 foot letters against the side of a hill!! It was amazing, and I was in shock!! Of course I said yes!!

He went to my parent's house the night before and bought dinner and flowers for my parents and my grandma. He told me he was at a farmer's meeting and would not be able to see him. He also went shopping with his sister a few weeks before that for my ring. I was really mad at him because he was supposed to spend that day with me. But everything fell into place and I was absolutely shocked! We had been talking about marriage and I was ready to marry him. You know how girls are! I thought it was going to be a few more months away.

My hubby went to a local airport and had a pilot drive over and take pictures. Also the newspaper editor was flying over the marry me sign and wrote an editorial about it. I called him and told him the back story, and he printed another article about it. Actually a few magazines called us, but they were bulldozing magazines, not People or anything. It was an amazing time!!! It will always be in my heart as the most unique proposal.

If you are married, how were you proposed too?

I was flipping through the channels last night, and I came across this show. It was on the Fine Living Channel and it was called "Whatever Martha". The premise of the show is Martha's daughter Alexis and her friend watch old clips from the Martha Stewart show. It's not clips from her new show, but the old one she use do it.

Now not only do they watch the show, but the mock everything about it! It is hilarious!!! Alexis talks about how her mom never loved her like she wanted her to, and she had to be perfect. As they watch this show they make fun of her clothes, her crafts, and the way she does things.

The best part is I beleive that it is produced by Martha Stewart herself!! I mean Martha would not let her old clips being shown without making some money.

I have no idea what time or day, but look for it on your DVR. Its FUNNY!!!

You Guys Like me, You really like me!!!

I went to work this morning, and as I was reading my daily blogs, I came across this blog award for little old me.

Mrs. D gave me this award and I was just flabergasted. She is my regular commenter, when mostly everyone else is sporadic. Thank you so much!!! I wrote a post a long time ago, about how no one commented on my blog. I deleted it because it was such a pity party, so when I finally got some readers, I was estastic!!! People that know me and don't know me read this blog. Now I know I am no Mama's Losin' it or Ashley's Closet, but this has truly made my day!

I want to give this award to Mrs. Bliss, because she gave me the next award, and she is newlywed like me!!

Then I went to Mrs. Bliss blog, and she had an award for me too!!!! I was absolutely shocked!!!! I can't believe it!!

This one had some rules so I was going to give this away to some people.

1. You may only choose five people/blogs to give the award to.
2. Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog.
3. One has to be a new follower of your blog or live in another part of the world.

Ok this might be a little hard. I don't have that many readers! Here goes nothing:

1. Mrs. D of course, she is my regualar commenter and a dedicated follower!! She is going to be excited, I think she has about 20 awards.

2. Weeksie50 at Smile! It's Becky, She follows my blog, and she has a great blog too!

3. Sarah at the Livingston Family: She has been my BFF since High school, and she started a blog, and I wanted to be just like her so I started a blog too!

4. Dalton Gang, she is my cousin, and I love reading her blog about her kids and how she homeschools them.

5. Heather at the Kettle Corn Queen, she lives in my town, and she has cute kids.

This is great, and I am truly blessed. It gives me so much encouragement to keep writing!!!

Panic and Hysteria

I was going to write about how I am really scared that our jobs are in danger, because both my husband and I work for some part of building houses and banks.

But since I really do not understand "The Big Bailout" I can't really go into why I am scared. Why does it have to be so darn confusing. The ladies at work today had me really scared talking about it over lunch. I was so scared, I had to call my hubby and ask him if we should take all our money out of the bank and bury it in the backyard. My husband calmed me down, and said the bank would cover up to $100,000.00 dollars. We by no means have even close to that.

But he reassured me.

So now all I have to worry my pretty little head about is who is getting kicked off "Dancing with the Stars". Which I hope is Kim Kardashian, because she can not dance for nothing. She has that big old butt, and she can not even shake it. I can shake it better than her. My husband probably wishes my butt was as big as hers.

Vacation Road Trip Part 2

The next part of our trip was to go to Nashville for the day. I had been there when I was about 12 so it had changed a lot. A and I wanted to check into the hotel and not have to move our car anymore.

Big Mistake!!

We walked probably a mile and a half at 12:00 noon on the hottest day to find a place to eat. We had heard there was going to some country concerts going on in that part of the town later that night. We got there about 4 hours too early.

So A decided she wanted some sushi. I love Chinese and Japanese food like the best of them. But I had only really tried California Rolls. She ordered a couple different sushi and I ordered Teriyaki Chicken(I know Original!) Then I decided under Angela's guidance to try Sake. Thank you Sensai!

Here is a little thing about Sake. It is like taking a warm shot of Vodka. Cold Vodka burns going down the throat, and when you add warm to that it equals Gross!!!! Angela liked it but I did not!! No more Sake for this grasshopper.

After eating we realized we had a few hours to spend before the concerts. So we called a cab, because there was no way we were walking back in the heat. Our makeup practically came off the first time!!

We went to the tourist shops and did what any tourist would do.

In Nashville, in case you did not know, they have 2 streets of just bars and tourist shops. So say at 3:00 in the afternoon you want to hear some live country music and have a drink. You can in Nashville.

This guy was great! Cute too! Hopefully we hear about him in a couple years on the radio.

We could not leave Nashville without visiting this place to make sure it was just like the movie.

That is the only acceptable picture I could put up!

Oh and it is just like the movie, maybe even more racier!!

All in all we had a blast! My friend and I were able to hang out, see new things, and make great memories!!!

Photography!

We bought a new camera. It was such a good deal we could not pass it up. It was a Sony A100 dsrl. It was 75% off because it was missing the battery charger and it was a display.

DSC00045-1

I really like it! I need to learn how to use it. I think it will be great for when my husband and I have kids.

I always see photography blogs taking pictures like this. I really like how it came out.

I don't have any photography experience but I hope I can learn.

Vacation Road Trip Part 1

Here is a little bit of what happened on our Road Trip to Alabama. I decided not to fly because I am not crazy about planes. Although if anyone mentions that they would like to drive 12 hours. Don't!!! It is a long trip!!! We started out at 6:00 on Sunday night thinking that we were going to make it the whole way! Well we couldn't! We stopped in Atlanta at midnight, too tired to drive anymore. I was driving the whole way!! My friend A is not the best driver, but she knows it.

We left early Monday morning to finish our drive. The longest drive ever!!

But we finally arrived at the sweet baby's house! My beautiful niece "Sweet Pea", she is too gorgorues for words. Seriously my brother and his wife make one pretty child. It was worth the 12 hour drive in every way!

Those three days we spent seeing my brother, his wife, and niece. It was fun! I was so glad A came with me though. The only fun thing that we did was get our hair done.

Now usually I let my sister in law do my hair. I just get the normal cut. But I wanted highlights and it was spontaneus. I think it looks really great! My friend A has lost about 60 pounds in about 9 months. She looks really good. She got her hair done too!

Next post will be about the Nashville Part.
