It's Over!

The hurricane in gone!! You wouldn't think that with all the extended coverage they are doing on it. The coast did not even do a mandatory evacuation!! The news gets so crazy when a hurricane comes. I know they can be dangerous especially if you live near the coast, but we live about an hour from the coast, and you would think we lived right there!

Even before Hurricane Katrina our state seems to think that the world has to be put on hold for a category 1 hurricane. I feel bad for the people that had their house flooded, and trees hit their cars. But we don't see those stories on the news. We see the stupid newscasters telling us how deep the water is, and standing on the beach as the hurricane is coming in.

I am sure there is a whole other blog post how the media trys to get everyone all hyped up over nothing!!!

We made it through the night, and do not remember a thing.

2 Ways to Agree/Disagree with me!:

Yeah, most things like this get blown out proportion. In So IL we get tornadoes and severe storms and although many can be damaging, the tv weather guys around here go NUTS! They'll have constant wall-to-wall coverage when storms hit. It totally sucks, especially when it's a Thu night when The Office or Grey's is on! Storms be damned!

Amen! (we are in Baptist-country right!) I get so mad when I go to the store and there is nothing there - I feel bad for the workers who worked overtime making the perishables dissapear from the shelves, but at the same time - duh - where is their marketing sense. If a storm really did hit - they could just call up a bunch a of neighbors and have things grilling outside and sell them for more than the groceries would have cost.
